We are in women's education in Islamic consciousness

In 2018, a plot of land in Savar (suburb of Dhaka, Bangladesh) was anonymously donated as Sadaqah to build a Madrasa for girls. Much planning was done locally, along with reaching out to our Muslimah architects in Chicago for guidance. The vision grew to create a space for women and young girls to come and feel safe to learn their Deen as well as general western education and skill-building.

Our goal is to provide a safe environment for young girls and their sisters, moms, and aunts in the community to come and learn and practice their Deen and develop new skills. The institution of Dar Al-Heekmah is designed to educate girls from kindergarten to Dawra-e-Hadith (Masters), in addition to, advanced English, computer literacy and even home economics classes.

The foundation of the institution has been secured for 8 floors. It will contain a library, staff offices and a kitchen on the first floor. The second to eighth floors will have classrooms, a recreation area and bathrooms with wudu area and showers.

In 2019, we broke land and construction has steadily progressed. Alhamdulillah, with all your Dua’s and donations, we are near the completion of our first 2 floors. We still have a long way to go in getting the center fully functional for classroom learning. All your efforts, Dua’s and donations are requested to help us complete this center!

Please continue to support this noble project as Sadaqa Jariya for years to come!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Women will not be left behind in modern Islamic education

At the time of the advent of Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW), women, especially Arab women, were utterly neglected in the society. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) declared women deprived of proper education and social consciousness to have the same status as men as human beings with the right to education.

Due to such enthusiasm for women’s education, Hazrat Ayesha (RA) memorized six lakh hadiths and the entire Qur’an. She was a wise and talented teacher. He taught not only women but also men. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said about Hazrat Ayesha (ra), ‘Learn a half of your religion from Ayesha.

History testifies that in that era of Islam, women were scholars in education and science. There were 1543 female disciples who were no less than men in various fields starting from education, civilization, medicine, lectures.

At the time of the death of Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW), his majestic wives were considered to be the custodians of Hadith. Among them Hazrat Hafsa, Hazrat Umm Habiba, Hazrat Umm Salma and Hazrat Ayesha (ra) were especially notable.

Through them, Hadith, Tafsir and various issues spread. Many of the scholars and nobles of Arabia at that time were their students.
